I've known Redhen (Vivian) for many years through our Native online community Rund Dance. I've seen her develop through thoughts that went into her book, and as a friend, I've helped her along the way. Some people would use this book strictly to lash out at those who abused her. Vivian has taken the high road. Sure, it's obvious the degree of pain she has suffered. But she hasn't written "The Missionary Myth" as an expose to hurt, but rather as a ray of light to bring healing.

She exposes an aspect of how Christians attempt to fulfill "The Great Commission" that surely causes all heaven to weep. Everyone needs to know what is in this book: many don't want anyone to know. It's a courageous step Vivian has taken in sharing this part of her life. But exposing dark secrets to the light is the only way to bring true healing.
